My Pilates Journey

My encounter with Pilates started in 2013 after I went through a torn ligament repair surgery on my left foot. Being a regular runner who would be out of action for at least 3 months, it was devastating. I chanced upon The Pilates Works. With 50% weight bearing allowed on my foot, and still in air boot and crutches, I hobbled to the studio and started my rehab journey with Collin. Doing Pilates regularly has made me stronger and more confident in my movements. I stand taller and walk (and run) better. I joined the Core Dynamics Teacher Training Programme in 2017 and have been teaching Pilates to a vast diversity of clients. Some of these include the general population with no major injuries, clients with spinal issues like degenerations and bulges and scoliosis, children and elderly, pregnant clients and post-natal recovery.

What’s the Best Thing about Being a Pilates Teacher

I have gained a great deal from doing Pilates in terms of strength, posture and confidence. Being able to share these gains with my clients, making them stronger, move better and feeling better about themselves is my greatest motivation and fulfilment.
