Master Teacher Michael Collins

his flexibility and balance.
Previous to his mountaineering career, Michael served in the United
States Marine Corps, Special Forces, played competitive ice hockey
and studied martial arts.
Michael is a certified Pilates teacher, having received certification
through Core Dynamics, Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA and through The
Pilates Method Alliance, USA.
He has taught teacher training workshops in Oregon and New Mexico,
USA, at the Pilates Method Alliance conferences and at the Pilates
Bodyworks, Singapore.
Michael lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA, where he owns his own
Michael Collins Pilates.
Pilates is a fully developed system of movement and not simply
a random group of exercises. When Pilates is practised at pace,
it will help one acquire a natural rhythm and coordination that
will translate to one's everyday life.
We will achieve this benefit through a focus on:-
- Sequencing the exercises
- Transitioning between exercises
- Pacing the exercises to the breath
We will study these Pilates principles and apply them to the reformer,
the chair and mat/floor work. The application of these Pilates principles
will help teachers and students empower themselves to get the most
from their workouts.
Schedule (subject to change):-
31st July and 1st August
Private classes will be available with Micheal on these 2 days.
